The new Chicago Hounds hockey team will be playing as a member in the United Hockey League (UHL). The UHL has been in existence for 15 years and is known for their fast pace-hard hitting brand of hockey. In its 15 years, the UHL has drawn more than 18 million fans and has 14 teams each playing a total of 76 regular season games.

The Chicago Hounds begin their inaugural season in October 2006 with the first home game to begin in November.
